Student Senate

The NIU Student Senate is the representative body for all students and is an official entity within NIU governance. It comprises Student Senators from the day, evening, and weekend programs, as well as the Bachelor’s program and NIU’s Academic Centers. The Student Senate provides the opportunity for students to address their concerns directly to NIU leadership and take steps toward improving student life at NIU. It is a Student Senator’s duty to represent each specific contingency (each program, format, and location) of the student body, to make sure all student needs are being met.
